Hey, we get it. You’re ready to hit the slopes! But you’ve got one quick question before you head out. At Sunburst, we like to keep things moving. We’ve compiled some questions we hear the most, answered them, and dropped them below for your reading pleasure.
Sunburst Ski Hill is proudly located in Kewaskum, Wisconsin. We’re just 35 minutes outside of Milwaukee and 40 minutes southeast of the Fox Valley. Get directions and start planning your trip.
Hours vary depending on the different winter sports and day of the week. View our hours of operation.
If you’re looking to spend the weekend at the hill, then we recommend booking your stay at the West Bend Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton! Just mention Sunburst when you make your reservation and you’ll get 20% off your room rate. Book your room today.
In Wisconsin, we’re pros at dealing with the cold! Here are a few tips that can help make your experience comfortable and stress-free.
Our rentals include skis, snowboards, poles, boots, and helmets—everything you need to have a blast out on the hill with the exception of personal wear. If you just need a helmet, you can rent one for $5, and goggles, while not available for rent, can be purchased in our Main Ski Shop! Buy your rentals online.
You bet, and we’re pretty stoked about it! Our snow tubing hill is wider than your average run-of-the-mill hill, with over 45 chutes, a 90-foot drop in elevation, and over 1200 feet of pure fun, allowing tubers to reach speeds of over 35 mph! Hop on Das Chutes and see for yourself!
Snow tubing is a safe activity and best of all, almost anyone can do it! But, like any high-speed winter sport, accidents can happen. Safety is paramount at Sunburst, which is why we have a few requirements we ask all guests to follow. For instance, all snow tubers must be at least 42 inches tall, and each rider must use their own tube. We do not allow tying tubes together.
Snow tubing tickets are only sold on an individual basis. We do not have any multi-use or season passes for tubing.
When it comes to winter sports, we’re committed to providing the best value in Wisconsin. Head here for our snow tubing pricing information. Jet on over here for our skiing and snowboarding pricing information.
YES! In accordance with the Wisconsin Skier Safety Act, Sunburst has several different waivers that must be completed. To maximize your time on the hill, we encourage you to fill out the applicable waivers before your arrival. If you need assistance with any of these waivers, simply visit a cashier or one of our friendly guest ambassadors. They’d be glad to help you out!
Waivers are good for one whole season.
Sure do! Ski and snowboard lift tickets for active military members are the same price as our children’s tickets. Our little way of saying Thank You for your service.
Good news! Children 5 and under get free lift tickets as long as they’re accompanied by a paid adult.
We wish! Although Wisconsin is pretty chilly, we’re not quite that cold. Typically, our season lasts approximately 12 weeks, from December through March. But stay tuned! In the coming years, you’ll be seeing some new summertime programming to make Sunburst a year-round destination for Wisconsin adventure.
Yes, thanks for asking. For all special hours of operation, including holidays, scoot on over to our hours of operation page.
Great idea! For all group inquiries, simply head to our group sales page and fill out the request.
Winter fun builds up an appetite! We’ve got a few different places to grab some grub, including two concession counters where we serve burgers, dogs, and your favorite American-style food. The top-level of our Chalet is a newly renovated bar where adults can take in the views and while enjoying a beverage.
Due to limited space, we don’t allow outside food in our buildings. However, feel free to bring a lunch and eat it at one of our several patio tables.
No. Basically, it’s a safety hazard and infringes on individuals’ rights to privacy. Here’s our whole formal spiel on why you cannot fly a drone here. Bottom line: do not fly a drone here.
We love that Sunburst and the Ice Age Trail border each other and work together for outdoor enthusiasts. However, given construction and the large-scale equipment that frequent our parking lots during the offseason, our parking lots are closed whenever Sunburst is closed. For trail parking, please continue along Ridge Road where you will find a designated Ice Age Trail parking lot.
We do not allow pets. That being said, service dogs and animals that assist guests are welcome.
While we do not have any changing rooms, we do offer several lockers that are available to rent. If you are in need of a locker, please see our Rentals Coordinator. Lockers can be rented for a full season for $75.
